Martha Tisdale drew at an early age and decided that art would be her vocation in high school. She pursued an Art Education degree beginning at David Lipscomb University, transferred to Auburn University for a BS Education degree majoring in Art, and later returned to obtain a Masters in Art Education from Georgia State University. The time between bachelors and masters degrees was spent teaching high school, art design for her husband's cable programming venture, rearing a family, conducting art classes at the Museum of Art and Science in Macon, teaching in the summer program at Mercer University, volunteering for Bibb County Public Schools, taking painting and etching workshops, exhibiting in art exhibits in the southeast, and working in her father's sign business as a designer. She now follows her dream of painting full time.
